The 2017 Honda Activa is the fourth generation model of the Activa line up and is known as Activa 4G, which has received several updates and currently is the best bid from the company in the segment.

On the other side is the Suzuki India’s best-selling and highly praised scooter in the 125cc segment, known as the Suzuki Access 125.

The Honda Activa 4G price starts from Rs. 51,325 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Suzuki Access 125 Price starts from Rs. 54,163 (ex-showroom). Both of them are popular in their own league.

Let’s see which one holds the supremacy over the other when compared side by side.

Styling Features

The Honda Activa 4G looks impressive in terms of styling with redesigned front apron and sharper curves at right places. It offers a mobile charging socket for the first time and comes with a large storage space under the seat. It has additionally received two new color options – Matte Selene Silver Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.

On the other hand, the Suzuki Access is inspired by the neo-retro design philosophy, which looks dull in front of the Honda Activa’s sharp styling. The wider seats are more comfortable compared to that of the Activa 4G. However, the two new colour options – Metallic Fibroin Grey and Metallic Matt Black give it a sporty appeal. Moreover, both the models are offered with Automatic Headlamp On.

Braking and Handling

The Honda Activa 4G features a spring loaded hydraulic type suspension at both ends. In terms of braking, it offers a Combi Brake System (CBS) with drum brakes at both wheels.

The Suzuki Access is equipped with telescopic forks as the front suspension and swingarm as the rear suspension. It offers smoother riding experience with least bumps and jerks. Braking power is provided by the drum brakes as standard, while it also gets a front disc brake as optional.

Engine and performance

The Honda Activa 4G is powered by a 109cc engine, which manages to deliver a maximum power of 8bhp and a peak torque of 9 Nm. It offers a fuel-efficiency of 60 kmpl.

On the other hand, Suzuki Access features a 124cc, single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power output of 8.5bhp against a peak torque of 10.2 Nm.

The engines of both the vehicles offer an automatic CVT gearbox transmission system. With a larger engine, Suzuki Access delivers a better performance and higher mileage of 64 kmpl.

Which one is better?

The Suzuki Access is priced slightly higher than the Honda Activa, but the powerful performance and greater stability of the vehicle speak for itself and the worthiness of the extra price. However, you cannot stop praising the Honda Activa for being the master in its segment with all its unique feature and reliable performance at an affordable price range.
